who do YOU think YOU are?
WHO DO YOU THINK YOU ARE? PT.1
As I make my way through the universe
I see you carry a cross
Nailing yourself to it skillfully
WHO DO YOU THINK YOU ARE?
As I measure the sway of the universe
I see you alone on the moon
Casting dispersions at everyone
WHO DO YOU THINK YOU ARE?
WHO DO YOU THINK YOU ARE?
Are you the cop or are you the criminal?
Are you the surface or the subliminal?
Are you the mob or the individual?
WHO DO YOU THINK YOU ARE?
WHO DO YOU THINK YOU ARE?
LIGHT THE LIGHTS
I was alive and formless
Rocketing through space
Headed toward some strange
And terrifying place
I entered emptiness like
slipping through a door
When I realized that
I had seen this place before
I reached a wall less chamber
And spun around its core
Then a voice said
This is what you have been sent here for
LIGHT THE LIGHTS
MAKE THEM SHINE BLINDINGLY BRIGHT
LIGHT THE LIGHTS
SO THEY’LL ILLUMINATE THE NIGHT
There was this 50’s era futuristic globe
Covered in bulbs that were lit up and set to strobe
I zoomed into several rows of 3 or 4
And knew that they were mine to ready for the war
The war that rages not around us but within
And caused this cosmic revolution to begin
As i saw the lights I instinctively knew
That i could be an inspiration to these few
LIGHT THE LIGHTS
MAKE THEM SHINE BLINDINGLY BRIGHT
LIGHT THE LIGHTS
LET THEM ILLUMINATE THE NIGHT
Light the lights
Steel them for the fight
Help them grow their wings
and flutter off into the night
Light up the lights
Keep them in your sight
Find the common element
That exists to excite
STUCK IN THE FALL
Winter is done
And summer will soon be gone
I’ve been in the middle of a
Seasonal purgatory for so long
I’ve shined up my name
Moved to a brand new place
but there is still the evidence of tragedy
And disappointment on my face
Sometimes I feel like
I’m 50 feet tall
And the world can seem so
Infinitely small
Sometimes I feel like
I’m not here at all
Seasons pass while
I’m stuck in the fall
I’ve been around
Probably been to your town
Searching under every personality
For a harmony of human sound
But I’m still alone
Still searching for a home
My optimism only atrophies
Though my cynicism’s fully blown
Sometimes I feel like
I’m 50 feet tall
And the world can seem so
Infinitely small
Been waiting for
The universe to call
Seasons pass while
I’m stuck in the fall
Somewhere in the springtime of my youth
Lies a cold, inescapable truth
When others leapt and ran I barely crawled
Where others entered doors I was met with walls.
Sometimes I feel like
I’m 50 feet tall
And the world can seem so
Infinitely small
Sometimes I feel like
Life’s not real at all
Seasons pass while
I’m stuck in the fall
Seasons pass while I’m stuck in the fall
Seasons pass while I’m stuck in the fall
WHO DO YOU THINK YOU ARE? PT. 2
As I rediscover the universe
I hear you sounding alarms
To alert us to all the conspirators
WHO DO YOU THINK YOU ARE?
As I tune to the key of the universe
I hear you churning out lies
You perjure yourself perpetually
WHO DO YOU THINK YOU ARE?
WHO DO YOU THINK YOU ARE?
Are you the cop or are you the criminal?
Are you the surface or the subliminal?
Are you the mob or the individual?
WHO DO YOU THINK YOU ARE?
Are you the Pro or the Antagonist?
Are you the dummy or the ventriloquist?
A man of faith or are you the scientist?
WHO DO YOU THINK YOU ARE?
WHO DO YOU THINK YOU ARE?
To cast yourself as the trodden down hero
In this fairy tale?
Nothing but rejection letters and bills
In your daily mail
WE ARE THE THUNDER
Too many people in this world
Are concerned with what you are
Instead of who you are
A pretty face or a big account
Will sure get you very far
You can be a star
They’ll try to kick sand into your eye
Cut you just so they can hear you cry
Betray you without a reason why
Poison your dreams to watch them die
But hold on a little longer, longer
It feels like we’re getting stronger, stronger
Ain’t No shelter from the cloud we’re under, under
Lightning may strike but
WE ARE THE THUNDER
Too many People spend their time
Planning what they will do
If they get hold of you
As though a fascist machination of love
Could ever do
What they want it to
They’ll try to kick sand into your eye
Cut you just so they can hear you cry
Betray you without a reason why
Poison your dreams to watch them die
But hold on a little longer, longer
It feels like we’re getting stronger, stronger
Ain’t no shelter from the cloud we’re under, under
Lightning may strike but WE ARE THE THUNDER
They’ll try to kick sand into your eye
Cut you just so they can hear you cry
Betray you without a reason why
Poison your dreams to watch them die
But hold on a little longer, longer
It feels like we’re getting stronger, stronger
No shelter from the cloud we’re under, under
Lightning may strike but WE ARE THE THUNDER
THE TERRIBLE MOONLIGHT
I had a dream
I drifted in endless night
The moon was full
There was an eagle taking flight
It rose to the sky
All the stars had died
An abandoned nest
It was cold and nothing stirred inside
I’ve polished all the pain inside me
And set it out to sparkle beneath
The terrible moonlight in my head
I’ve taken all the hope within me
And left it in a box beneath
The Terrible Moonlight in my head
In another dream
We all were grains of sand
Dumped on the beach
Of a strange and foreign land
Subject to the whims
Of the ocean and the wind
Pulled to the shore
Or out to sea not to be seen ever again
I’ve polished all the pain inside me
And set it out to sparkle beneath
The terrible moonlight in my head
I’ve taken all the hope within me
And left it in a box beneath
The Terrible Moonlight in my head
The process is automatic
No consent, undemocratic
The rage becomes psychosomatic
As I search for the keys to my own attic
In my final dream
I was a solitary tree
perched on a mountain
with a valley below me
The trees that filled the forest there
Were green, strong, and tall
I grew out of rock and stone
Where nothing had a right to thrive at all
I’ve polished all the pain inside me
And set it out to sparkle beneath
The terrible moonlight in my head
I’ve taken all the hope within me
And left it in a box beneath
The Terrible Moonlight in my head
DARKNESS
I cannot see for the darkness
Is Growing in front of my eyes
I cannot feel for the numbness
Is Gripping my heart like a vice
And my soul is overloaded
With the weight of choices made
My world is colored by hurt
Acquired yesterday
I can taste naught but the bitter
Objection of pride
I can hear naught for the deafening loudness
The weeping of voices inside
I’m battered and I am bruised
By all you criminals and thieves
I feel shattered and abused
It is for myself I grieve
Darkness will follow you around
Darkness will follow you around
Darkness will swallow you down
If you refuse to see the light
REVELATIONS
One by one, by one, by one
By one, by one, by one, by one
One by one
Through the quiet of the dawn
Revelations hit me
Like the bullets from a gun
Lying on the floor
Shaken to my core
Defeat flew out the window
And was gone forever more
All I ever wanted
Was to love and to belong
But I was part of something
That was bigger all along
Oh, this skin
Is just the vehicle I travel in
The truth of what I really am
Lies hidden deep within
We are man
And like a criminal with no plan
We try to outthink a system
That we clearly don’t understand
All I ever wanted
Was to know that i belong
But I was part of something
That was vital all along
and All I ever needed
was a reason to be strong
cause’ I was fragile til’
these revelations came along
One by one, by one, by one
By one, by one, by one, by one
WHO DO YOU THINK YOU ARE? PT. 3
As I strip the paint from the universe
I see your palette of grays
Disregarding the colors available
WHO DO YOU THINK YOU ARE?
It seems you’re overwhelmed by the universe
You constantly question your worth
Your heart is a road inaccessible
WHO DO YOU THINK YOU ARE?
WHO DO YOU THINK YOU ARE?
Are you the cop or are you the criminal?
Are you the surface or the subliminal?
Are you the mob or the individual?
WHO DO YOU THINK YOU ARE?
Are you the Pro or the Antagonist?
Are you the dummy or the ventriloquist?
A man of faith or are you the scientist?
WHO DO YOU THINK YOU ARE?
WHO DO YOU THINK YOU ARE?
THE GARUUD EFFEKT EP 2012
CUT ME
Where is all of the hope and fortune we were promised?
Was it only a price you paid to buy our silence?
Are we only the gears that run your money machine?
Is this only a story told to hijack our dreams?
Cut me and you’ll see how much I bleed
But if you Love me you’ll plant an eternal seed
I AM MAN NOT ANIMAL
What happened to the freedom we though we signed up for?
Was it only an item sold to us in your store?
Are we living to the very best of our potential?
Are we dying for a cause that is so illogical?
Cut me and you’ll see how much I bleed
But if you Love me then we’ll all get what we need
Cut me and you’ll see how red I Bleed
Cultivate me don’t kill me like a weed
I AM MAN NOT ANIMAL
I AM NOT UNNATURAL
THIS LIFE IS CONSENTUAL
EVERY ACT IS CONSEQUENTIAL
What became of the feelings you said you had for me?
Were they lost like a treasure in a children’s story?
Was I only the fruit you felt had grown so rotten?
Am I only a name that is now long forgotten?
Cut me and you’ll see how much I bleed
But if you Love me you’ll plant an eternal seed
Cut me and you’ll see how much I bleed
But if you Love me then we’ll all get what we need
I AM MAN NOT ANIMAL
BELIEVE
Would you believe that an apple was sweet
If you’d never had one before
Do you feel that Jesus was real
though he’s never showed up at your door
Could you buy that UFO’s fly
From a base at the floor of the sea
Would you believe you grew up in a cell
When everyone said you were free
If there was something
that I could believe in
I’d tell it to you
But I don’t see anything
We should believe in
Except me and you
Would you ever dream that poisonous streams
Of water flowed into your town
Could you believe that employment was up
When you see everywhere that it’s down
Do you believe that the people you see on TV
Really care about you
Would you buy that there’s a hole in the sky
Because somebody told you it’s true
If there was something
that I could believe in
I’d tell it to you
But I don’t see anything
We should believe in
Except me and you
Oh, nefarious and clandestine
Institutions abound
Oh we revel in being lost
But we’re bound to be found
Do you believe half a million children
Piled up in a ditch could be good
Do you believe you should get down on your knees
Or salute ‘cause they told you you should
Tell me if you believe
Tell me what you believe
Tell me why you believe
Tell me how you believe
ALREADY IN LOVE
Since you were 16 been nursing the dream
To be the best anybody’s ever seen
Been giving it all you ascend or you fall
There ain’t no in between
Now you got the brass ring unlimited bling
You really shouldn’t want for anything
But you can’t hide the chasm inside
or the fact that it is widening
The ocean needs no water from anywhere else so just enjoy yourself ‘cause…
THE WORLD’S ALREADY IN LOVE WITH YOU
WHAT ELSE COULD YOU WANT FOR THE UNIVERSE TO DO
YOUR LIFE STARTS IN YOUR HEAD
SO KICK YOUR FEARS TO THE CURB AND
DREAM OF VICTORY INSTEAD
Now you’re looking for love that don’t fit like a glove
but acts just like a tourniquet
Trying to stem the flow of blood from below
‘cause you know your heart’s the start of it
You didn’t get but you gave so you never behaved
Now there’s a trail of bodies in the wind
You’re dying to feel even pain if it’s real
So you’ll let almost anybody in
The desert needs no sand from anywhere else so just enjoy yourself
THE WORLD’S ALREADY IN LOVE WITH YOU
WHAT ELSE COULD YOU WANT FOR THE UNIVERSE TO DO
YOUR LIFE STARTS IN YOUR HEAD
SO KICK YOUR FEARS TO THE CURB AND
DREAM OF VICTORY INSTEAD
Baby, I can hear you whimpering the blues
Maybe, there’s a better song for you to choose
Your dream’s the wrong size and of the wrong prize
Be careful of what could materialize
Get your game face on and stifle the yawn
Or doubt will be your demise
THE WORLD’S ALREADY IN LOVE WITH YOU
THE WORLD’S ALREADY IN LOVE WITH YOU
THE WORLD’S ALREADY IN LOVE WITH YOU
THE WORLD’S ALREADY IN LOVE WITH YOU
ENOUGH
It feels like I’m all alone
And I feel like a man with no home
I feel like an outcast from the tribe
I feel so turbulent inside
it feels like I don’t belong
like everything I do is wrong
no comfort even in my own skin
It’s like I’m some kind of alien
But I think that I no longer give a damn
I’ve had enough of breaking down
And I’ve had enough of hanging on
To what I fear and what I sow
And everything I think I know
I’ve had enough of feeling low
I feel like I can’t compete
like my shoes don’t fit on my feet
I feel like I can’t compare
To anybody here or anywhere
I feel like I’ve lost my way
Like nobody hears anything I say
I know I’m running out of time
To make a splash while still in my prime
I know there’s no further use in crying
I’ve had enough of breaking down
And I’ve had enough of hanging on
To what I fear and what I sow
And everything I think I know
I’ve had enough of feeling low
I’ve had enough
Yeah I’ve had enough
I’ve had enough
Yeah I’ve had enough
I’ve had enough of breaking down
And I’ve had enough of hanging on
To what I fear and what I sow
And everything I think I know
I’ve had enough of feeling low
I’ve had enough
Yeah I’ve had enough
I’ve had enough
Yeah I’ve had enough
IT’S OVER
Well it looks like it’s over
From the way you’re so obsessed with triviality
Yeah it looks like it’s over
Because you’ve grown so apathetic to tragedy
It sure looks like it’s over
‘cause we’ve created our existence irresponsibly
Yeah it seems like it’s over
Because we walked into the cages so willingly
But I won’t say it’s over
Until the sky is under me
You know I believe
No I won’t say it’s over
Cause there’s a fire under me
You better believe
It sure looks like it’s over
We recollect our history selectively
Well it looks like it’s over
Because we’ve enslaved each other democratically
Yeah it looks like it’s over
We’re still distributing love conditionally
Yeah it seems like it’s over
We’ve polluted our consciousnesses collectively
But I won’t say it’s over
Until the sky is under me
No I won’t say it’s over
Cause there’s a fire under me
You better believe
There’s an emptiness inside
feels like we’ve all already died
Crimes too numerous to hide
could have been saved but nobody tried
Still some part of me resists
Sees the beauty we all missed
Submits and order to desist
communication with the fist
Well it looks like it’s over
Yeah it looks like it’s over
Yeah it seems like it’s over
It sure as hell could be over
But I won’t say it’s over
Until the sky is under me
You know I believe
No I won’t say it’s over
Cause there’s a fire under me
You better believe
